Semifinalists Decided for Super Saturday

Tai Tzu Ying was the last player to secure her place in the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2022 semifinals outlasting old rival Ratchanok Intanon, much to the dismay of the home fans.

In a quirk of the draw, Tai will face her conqueror from Day 1, He Bing Jiao of China.

Despite a surprise defeat to Prannoy H. S. on Day 3, Viktor Axelsen topped Group A and will clash with Japanese youngster Kodai Naraoka for a chance to capture another title.

The other side of the men’s singles draw promises a juicy clash with Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Jonatan Christie squaring off in an all-Indonesian showdown.

A total of five Indonesian qualified with Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari joining their colleagues.

China have six representatives, missing out only in men’s singles.
