Yushi Tanaka and Supanida Katethong broke a title-less spell that lasted well over a year as they clinched the singles titles at YONEX Swiss Open 2026 in straight games.
Tanaka, whose last title win was at the US Open in June 2024, was a comfortable winner over sixth seed Alwi Farhan, 21-18 21-12.
Farhan was disappointed but said fatigue had played a role.
“It’s been a great week. Obviously I was tired today, but it is what it is,” said the Indonesian. “He was better than me. Maybe next time I will prevail. He was so fast and made me commit unforced errors. So every time he pressed he won the point.”
Katethong too broke a longish drought, her last title coming in May 2024 at the Thailand Open. The Thai got the better of top seed Putri Kusuma Wardani, 21-11 21-15.
“A bit disappointed because I didn’t play well and couldn’t push the contest all the way,” said Wardani. “But still grateful to finish second. She played with good strategy and I couldn’t counter her.”

Chinese Taipei twins Lee Fang-Chih/Lee Fang-Jen, who had to overcome two match points in their semifinal, faced no such difficulties in the final as they powered past seventh seeds Daniel Lundgaard/Mads Vestergaard 21-18 21-13.
“This is our third tournament in Europe and the important thing was our fitness. We felt some tightness in our body but the key was to hold our mental toughness.”
