World No.1 An Se Young stayed on track to match the all-time singles season record as she won her 10th title from 2025, pocketing the SATHIO GROUP Australian Open 2025.
The top seed needed just 44 minutes to dismantle the challenge of second seed Putri Kusuma Wardani, 21-16 21-14, and is now one away from matching Kento Momota’s 2019 record of 11 titles in a season.

“It’s very special of course to get this 10th title. I’m really happy,” said the champion. “I would like to get the record but I’m just thinking one by one, step by step. I just want to play my best always. The Australian Open is fantastic because of all of the fans encouraging me and the support I get here.”
Sensational Indra/Joaquin
Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin achieved the biggest result of their fledgling careers as they upset senior compatriots Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri for the men’s doubles title.
The world No.32 pair, runners-up at the Korea Masters last week, overcame in-form duo Alfian/Fikri 22-20 10-21 21-18 to achieve their first title on the HSBC BWF World Tour. Quite impressively, they were in their fourth successive final, and eighth final this year.

“We’ve proven we can compete at the top level. But we’ve only just risen; we are not satisfied yet because this is only our first win and we want more,” said Indra.
“We communicated more with each other and because we also often meet them (Alfian/Fikri) in training, we knew the solution when playing against them.”
