Local youngster Justin Hoh has been promoted to the PERODUA Malaysia Masters 2025 men’s singles main draw and will play fourth seed Kodai Naraoka in the first round.
This marks the 21-year-old’s maiden appearance at a home HSBC BWF World Tour event. Hoh has played five World Tour events this season and had a run to the quarterfinals two weeks ago at the Taipei Open, where he surprised defending champion Lin Chun-Yi in the second round.
Fans will also eagerly welcome Ng Tze Yong after he was forced to skip the Malaysia Open in January due to a back injury.
The movements in the men’s singles were prompted by the withdrawal of Thailand Open runner-up Anders Antonsen. Li Shi Feng is now the highest seeded player while Chou Tien Chen takes Antonsen’s position in the top half.
In women’s singles, Thailand Open winner Chen Yu Fei’s withdrawal has set up a clash between Ratchanok Intanon and home hope Goh Jin Wei.
Below are the remaining main draw withdrawals and promotions.
