Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping won their eighth tournament of the year and their third in a row comprehensively outplaying compatriots Jiang Zhen Bang/Wei Ya Xin 21-12 21-17.

It was their first BWF World Tour Finals title as a pair, with Huang Dong Ping regaining the title she had first won with Wang Yi Lyu in 2018.

Overall, Feng/Huang were in 10 finals.

“I’m very glad to win this title again, which I first won with Wang Yi Lyu,” said Huang. “I feel it’s confirmation of my performance. It was a very good year for us and we were stable and maintained a high level in training. Looking forward, we will continue working in response to challenges.”

Their vanquished opponents acknowledged that Feng and Huang had been far superior.

“We are less mature compared to them (Feng/Huang) especially on grasping key points not only at key points but also in between,” said Wei Ya Xin.
