World No.1 An Se Young has the opportunity to set several records if she wins the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2025.

If she wins the final against Wang Zhi Yi tomorrow, she will become the first badminton player to earn a million US dollars in prize money in a season. The Korean had US$763,175 before the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2025, and the winner’s cheque of US$240,000 will see her surpass US$1 million. An is already the highest-ever prize money winner over a season, with the second-highest being Wang Zhi Yi (US$505,465) also achieved this year.
