The most exceptional talent over the past 12 months will be feted at the BWF Player of the Year Awards 2025, with the winners to be announced at the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2025 Gala Dinner on Monday 15 December.
World champions Shi Yu Qi, Akane Yamaguchi, Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning and Kim Won Ho/Seo Seung Jae are among the leading contenders.
Five marquee awards will recognise the best player or pair in men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
The awards celebrate outstanding talent, consistent performance throughout the season, fair play, personality and profile across a 12-month eligibility period from 1 December 2024 to 30 November 2025.
The 2025 marquee award winners are determined by a combined score based on two factors:
HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2024 and TotalEnergies BWF World Championships 2025 carry double points.
