Indonesia enjoyed a perfect Saturday at the SATHIO GROUP Australian Open 2025, winning all their semifinal matches and ensuring two qualifiers to the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2025.
Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu made it to their first season finale when they fought off Ruttanapak Oupthong/Jhenicha Sudjaipraparat in 88 minutes, 19-21 21-13 21-14.
There were five other Indonesian winners on the day, and they will be in four of five finals tomorrow, with the men’s and women’s doubles all-Indonesia affairs.
“I’m thankful, nothing else I can express,” said Pasaribu. “I’m happy and relieved that we booked our spot at the World Tour Finals.”

Two other qualifiers were decided on the day. Their compatriots Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri needed to make the final to ensure qualification to Hangzhou, and they did just that by beating teammates Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani 21-15 19-21 21-16. This will be their first World Tour Finals as a pair, having come together only this year.
“I’m happy to win and qualify to the World Tour Finals. This is beyond our expectations because we played together in the last five months and only eight tournaments together,” said Alfian.

“We played all out – we didn’t think too much. This win feels amazing. Today our opponents changed tactics in the second game, and we managed to anticipate it in the third game. In the third game, they caught up with us but luckily we continued to communicate with each other to deliver our tactics on court.”
In men’s singles, Lin Chun-Yi needed the title to get his ticket to Hangzhou but he faltered in the semifinals to Yushi Tanaka. The Chinese Taipei shuttler was shut out in straight games, 21-18 21-15, paving the way for fellow contender Kodai Naraoka to qualify.
