Top seed Shi Yu Qi has withdrawn from YONEX French Open 2025 due to a shoulder injury.
The reigning world champion had been hoping to defend his title in France following his runner-up finish at the Denmark Open last week and was due to face Wang Tzu Wei at the Glaz Arena in Rennes.
His withdrawal sees Kunlavut Vitidsarn move up due to the Seed Withdrawal Movement. He will face the Chinese Taipei shuttler in the first round.
Shi’s compatriots Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning have also pulled out from the women’s doubles draw. Rin Iwanaga/Kie Nakanishi will occupy their spot.
