As a result of the Seed Withdrawal Movement, Yeo Jia Min, originally slated to play Sim Yu Jin, will now face Michelle Li in the Korea Open 2024 first round.

The rivalry between the Singaporean and Canadian, which Li leads 4-2, started in 2019. The most recent meetings however, have been more balanced. The pair clashed twice this year, with each bagging a straight games win.

This will be Yeo’s first tournament after losing to Aya Ohori in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Round of 16. A sick Li, meanwhile, retired from her second-round match with Pan Am rival Beiwen Zhang on Thursday.
