US Open: Beiwen Back at Home Event

Beiwen Zhang will play her first US Open in six years at the Fort Worth Convention Center, Texas this week.

The 2014 winner, seeded first, faces Japanese 21-year-old Manami Suizu in the YONEX US Open 2024 first round.

The 33-year-old last competed at her home event in 2018, when she lost in the final to Chinese women’s singles legend Li Xuerui.

This is set to be Beiwen’s last US Open as she has shared her plans to retire after the Paris 2024 Olympics Games.

Meanwhile, five withdrawals have been confirmed from the main draw.
