Thailand Open: An Se Young in Seventh Straight Final

World No.2 An Se Young’s glorious season continued as she made her seventh final in a row by beating Carolina Marin in the semifinals of the TOYOTA GAZOO RACING Thailand Open 2023 on Saturday.

An has reached the final of every event she has played, starting with the PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2023, besides leading Korea to the team final of the Sudirman Cup last month. The Korean, who enjoyed a straightforward 21-16 21-12 result over Marin, will be looking for her fourth title this year when she takes on He Bing Jiao in the final.

In men’s singles, Kunlavut Vitidsarn gave himself a shot at a first Thailand Open crown after he battled past Lakshya Sen, 13-21 21-17 21-13. The home hope faces eighth seed Lee Cheuk Yiu, who made his first final since his victory at the Hong Kong Open in November 2019.
